Robert Asp, DDS

My profession means everything to me, and there is not a day that I do not enjoy being a dentist. Being able to help people maintain their oral health or restore their mouths back to a healthy state is very satisfying, and being able to create a beautiful smile that gives a person confidence can be a life changing experience. I feel my passion for my profession has led to all three of my daughters being involved in dentistry, and I can only hope they find dentistry as rewarding as I do.

For more than 30 years, I have been in private practice here in Hilbert, WI. I love the deep sense of loyalty our patients have to our office. For me it is not like treating patients it is more like treating family.

Education and Continuing Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Biology – Central Michigan University
  • Doctorate of Dental Surgery – University of Michigan School of Dentistry
  • Research Associate – University of Michigan School of Medicine

Attending continuing education classes helps me to be a better dentist and to provide the best possible care for my patients. This benefit is the reason I choose to participate in continuing education in areas such as implant technology, orthodontics, Invisalign®, oral surgery, and sedation dentistry. Not only do I participate in continuing education, I am also the Director of Continuing Education for Aspiration Seminars.

Professional Memberships

  • American Dental Association
  • Academy of General Dentistry
  • Wisconsin Dental Association
  • Outagamie County Dental Association
  • President, North Central Orthodontic Study Club

In the Office

I am fortunate to work with such a great team of health care providers and to work in a profession that I am passionate about. My team and I have been together through thick and thin for the past 30 years. Our team appreciates being treated like family and understands that our patients want to be treated the same way. We deliver the most compassionate care in a most professional manner.

Family Life

My wife, Michele, and I have three daughters, Dr. Maureen Asp Porter, Julia, and Lauren Asp. We also have a rescue golden retriever named Riley and a rescue cat named Kaiya.  Up until a few years ago, my biggest leisure activity was that of assistant varsity girls’ basketball coach at Appleton North High school. I had coached for nearly 18 years, from elementary and middle school to high school and traveling tournament teams. These days I can be found golfing, boating, fishing, and spending time at our cottage in Door County.

In the Community

There are two main community service activities that I am involved with. I serve as a volunteer and as an Advisory Committee board member at the Tri-County Community Dental Clinic, providing care for the under-served of Outagamie, Winnebago, and Calumet Counties. In addition, I also serve to mentor dental students from Marquette University School of Dentistry and dental hygiene and dental assisting students from Fox Valley Technical College. Other activities I am involved with are Give Kids a Smile, National Children’s Dental Health Month, oral health screening of area preschoolers, and free screening for veterans and active military in November in honor of Veterans Day.
